Edwards-Knox continued their magical dark horse run in the second half of the season, as they took on the #2 seeded Hermon-Dekalb Green Demons Thursday night in the Class D Semi-Finals. E-K quickly ran out to a 7-2 first quarter lead but after a time-out by Hermon coach Clay Denesha, the Green Demons fired it up. Hermon ended the first quarter on a 9-4 run and E-K only led 13-11 after one. In the second quarter the momentum swung towards the Green Demons as they ran out to a 23-22 halftime lead. E-K wasn't ready to roll over. The Cougars came out revived and picked up their defensive pressure. E-K took a 34-30 third quarter lead, putting Hermon on the ropes. The fourth quarter got intersting as the Cougars held the highly powered offense of Hermon-Dekalb to just eight total points ensuring the Cougars spot in the Class D Championship with a 48-38 victory. Simon White led the Cougars with 10 points. Connor Whitton had 10 points for the Green Demons.
